2023 WAYA Fall Volleyball Tournament Brackets

FALL VOLLEYBALL REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED


**REMINDER: to get the WAYA Member discount on your Fall Registration, you MUST complete your 2023-2024 Membership Registration FIRST. After completing your Membership Registration you will use your 2023-2024 Member Access Code in your Fall League Registration to get the discount!**

WAYA Volleyball is played in the fall and spring seasons at our main facility located at 1314 Exposition Blvd. 

The Junior (3rd/4th grade) and Senior (5th/6th grade) divisions are coed. All teams are maxed out at 10 players. Special requests for more players can be made to the Athletic Director, Eric Bowers (ebowers@waya.org). 

Every team will have one practice and game per week. A weekly skills clinic led by professional coaches is also included with registration, details TBD. The season concludes with a single-elimination tournament!

CANCELLATION POLICY: 

A full refund will be given to those who make a request prior to the final registration deadline August 18th. Refunds that are requested after the final deadline must be approved by the Athletic Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, a $50 processing fee will be retained. In the event of a full-season cancellation, refunds will be given less the $50 processing fee. If a cancellation occurs mid-season, refunds will be prorated based on how many weeks were completed. 

CHOOSING YOUR DIVISION:
Players should be registered for their current grade level for the 2023-2024 school year.

PLAYING UP:
Participants with a higher skill level or experience may "play-up" in an older division with the permission of the Athletic Director Eric Bowers (ebowers@waya.org).

EARLYBIRD DEADLINE: Friday, July 7th
(Members $165/ Nonmembers $265)

FINAL DEADLINE or earlier if the divisions become full: Friday, August 18th
(Members $190/ Nonmembers $290)

Preseason Coaches Meeting: August 22, 2023 @ 7pm

Coaches are required to meet with the WAYA Athletic Team prior to the start of the season. A coaches meeting will be scheduled for approximately 2-3 weeks before the first game. A background check and some additional paperwork also be required to coach with WAYA.

Junior: Entering 3rd and 4th grade - max team size 10

Senior: Entering 5th and 6th grade - max team size 10

JUNIOR DIVISION (3RD/4TH GRADE) GAME DAY Wednesday Evenings
SENIOR DIVISION (5TH/6TH GRADE) GAME DAY Thursday Evenings *If league fills beyond 18 teams (approximately 180 registrants), a late Thursday game slot (8:30pm start) may be added to accommodate all game schedules
PRACTICES BEGIN 8/25
*One practice/wk. Practices are on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Practice day/time determined by coach.
CLINICS BEGIN

Mondays; Juniors 5-6pm & Seniors 6-7pm

GAMES BEGIN 9/6 & 9/7
LAST REGULAR SEASON GAMES 10/11 & 10/12
END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT Week of 10/16
*Tournament will take place Mon-Fri at WAYA
PRACTICE/CLINIC/GAME LOCATION Main WAYA Facility @ 1314 Exposition Blvd.

 

CLINICS: Complimentary weekly skills clinic will be each week. More information will be shared once we finalize with the clinic provider.


TEAM FORMATION:

Preformed teams are welcome. Coach/player/school requests will be considered in team formation. Please be sure to note your requests in your registration. We do not guarantee requests but will make every effort to fulfill as many as possible.

 

*Preformed teams: players must register individually. Coaches should email a complete roster to Athletic Director, Eric Bowers, at ebowers@waya.org. If a preformed team is playing up, ALL players must register for the correct division. WAYA reserves the right to add players to or split up preformed teams if needed for numerical team balance.



FINANCIAL AID POLICY: To obtain financial assistance, please complete the financial assistance form and email to Athletic Director, Eric Bowers, at ebowers@waya.org. With this request you must include proof of financial need in the form of a tax return or other proof of annual income.
