WAYA 5on5 Basketball (3rd-6th)

WAYA basketball is offered in Late Fall, Winter and Summer for kids from PreK through 12th Grade. WAYA basketball is played inside the gyms at our main facility at 1314 Exposition Blvd.

MEMBER REGISTRATION PRICE: $180 Earlybird / $205 Regular

Coaches are required to meet with the Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director prior to the start of the season. A coaches meeting will be scheduled for approximately 2-3 weeks before the first game. A background check and some additional paperwork will also be required to coach with WAYA.

TEAM FORMATION:

Each team should have at least 8 players and no more than 10. Coach, player and school requests will be considered in team formation so please be sure to note your requests on the registration form. We do our best to accommodate requests, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor all requests.

*Preformed teams: players must register individually. Coaches should email a complete roster to Assistant Athletic Director Daniela Juarez (DJUAREZ@WAYA.ORG) for GIRLS and Assistant Athletic Director Karissa Martinez (KMARTINEZ@WAYA.ORG) for BOYS. If a preformed team is playing up, ALL players must register for the correct division.

**WAYA reserves the right to add players to or split up preformed teams if necessary (not enough or too many players).

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:
A full refund will be given to those who make a request prior to the final registration deadline of December 13th. Refunds that are requested after the final deadline must be approved by the Athletic Director (LRAMIREZ@WAYA.ORG) and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, a $50 processing fee will be retained. 
 

CHOOSING YOUR DIVISION:
Players should be registered for their current grade level for the 2024-2025 school year. Depending on league size, some grade divisions may be combined (e.g., 5th & 6th grade play together).


PLAYING UP:
Participants with a higher skill level or experience may "play-up" in an older division with the permission of the Athletic Director, Laney Ramirez (LRAMIREZ@WAYA.ORG).

 

PRACTICES: 

Practices for all divisions will be held once a week. The coaches will have the option of choosing a practice time at the coaches meeting.

FINANCIAL AID POLICY:

To obtain financial assistance, please complete WAYA's Financial Aid Request Form. With this request you must include proof of financial need in the form of a tax return or other proof of annual income.
