WAYA 7v7 Football (5th-8th)

WAYA 7v7 Football, presented by P.L.A.Y. Sports is a version of football that has 7 players each for offense and defense.

This variation has a strong emphasis on running routes and the passing game, and there isn't any tackling nor are there any pads. Instead, it's similar to touch football where a player is considered "tackled" if a defender touches him below the neck.

7 on 7 is one of the most exciting and fun variations on football It's a great way to teach players skills they can then use in a regular 11 on 11 game!

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: 
5th - 8th Grade

TEAM REGISTRATION  Full team registration only (must have a coach). Teams must have a minimum of 12 players. 

If you do not have a middle school coach and team then you will need to join the 7v7 waitlist FOUND HERE. If a team has an open spot we will contact you.

GAME DAY Saturday Evenings - 4pm to 10pm
GAME FORMAT 2 games a night per school team.  Each game will consist of two 20 minute halves (running clock).

Each team will need to provide their own jerseys. We want players to represent their middle school so we encourage teams to wear school colors/jerseys.

 

 

Don't have a team to play with? Free agent players can JOIN THE WAITLIST and if a pre-formed team has space they will be added to that team.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
A full refund will be given to those who make a request prior to the final registration deadline of April 22nd. Refunds that are requested after the final deadline must be approved by the Program Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, a $50 processing fee will be retained. In the event of a full-season cancellation, refunds will be given less the $50 processing fee. If a full-season cancellation occurs mid-season, refunds will be prorated based on how many weeks were completed. 

 

TEAM FORMATION:

Full team registration ONLY. Teams must have 12-14 players. 

 
PLAYING UP:

Participants with a higher skill level or experience may "play-up" in an older division with the permission of the WAYA Athletic Director. If an entire team is playing up, all players must register for the appropriate division. Please contact Athletic Director, Jayla Pruitt (jpruitt@waya.org) for permission to play up.

FINANCIAL AID POLICY:

To obtain financial assistance, please complete WAYA's Financial Aid Request Form. With this request you must include proof of financial need in the form of a tax return or other proof of annual income.
