Extend Your Child's Day!
WAYA Preschool has an early drop-off option (bring your child at 8 am) & a late stay option (extend your child's day to 2 pm).

Hello! I am Yvette Aguilar, the WAYA Preschool Director. I have over 18 years of early childhood education experience in the classroom and in administration. I began my career as a lead teacher at St. David's Episcopal School for four years, Assistant Director for 11 years, and Director of Our Savior Lutheran School for the last three years. I have a degree from Texas Tech University and a Texas Daycare Director’s License.
I am passionate about early childhood development! As the WAYA Preschool continues to grow and improve, I hope to bring my experience going through both a state and national accreditation process (Texas Rising Star and NAEYC) to the preschool. I am very excited about working with the kids and families at WAYA Preschool.

My focus and passion for early childhood have kept me in the education field for 15 years. After living in Austin for several years, I moved to Corpus Christi where I received my Bachelor of Education from Texas A&M and my teaching certificate.
I came back to Austin as soon as I could and started at Texas State where I received my Masters of Education. I have worked in a variety of childcare centers and with AISD.
I am excited to be part of the WAYA community and have the opportunity to support staff in continuing to create an environment that allows students to explore, question, and
think critically.
