WAYA’s Family Day hits new records
The WAYA community came together on Friday, April 6th to celebrate Family Day, WAYA’s one major fundraiser. The event raised a record amount with a record number of sponsors. It was a special night with bouncy houses, face painters, hamster balls, a guest appearance from Hook 'Em, delicious food, along with signature adult beverages. Plus, special dignitaries including Mayor Steve Adler, Council Member Alison Alter District 10 and Council Member Leslie Pool District 7 capped off the evening. Family Day 2018 had a record turn out with over 900 attending including WAYA kids, parents, grandparents and friends.
WAYA has a lot to celebrate this year serving over 5,000 kids from 50 different zip codes through WAYA sports, WAYA Preschool, camps and after-school programs. Family Day 2018 Chairs were Samantha Bernstein, Darby Berra, Lindsey Heiser and Sarah Kitchen.
WAYA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds from Family Day fund sports programming and educational improvements to enhance students, parents, players and fans' experiences.
