An after-school program for girls to educate and prepare girls for a life time of self-respect and healthy living.
About Girls on the Run:
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a life-changing, experiential learning prgram for girls in 3rd-5th grade (ages 8-13). The program combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual, and physical development. Girls on the Run promotes physical as well as emotion, mental, and character development that encourages pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
The girls complete the program with
- a stronger sense of identity
- a greater acceptance of themselves
- a healthier body image
- an understanding of what it means to be a part of a team
Season (Fall) & Location:
GOTR will include 12 weeks (24 lessons)
Girls will meet every Monday & Wednesday, September 17 - December 10* from 3:30PM - 4:30PM
*Girls on the Run - WAYA follows AISD school calendar and will not meet the Wednesday of Thanksgiving
Season (Spring) & Location:
GOTR will include 10 weeks (20 lessons)
Girls will meet every Monday & Wednesday, (dates - TBA) from 3:30PM - 4:30PM
*Girls on the Run - WAYA follows AISD school calendar and will not meet the week of Spring Break

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION:
To obtain financial assistance, please complete registration form and financial assistance form available at WAYA. Please return both forms to WAYA before registration deadline. All scholarship requests received prior to the deadline, will be honored.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be given to those that cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, a processing fee of $25 will be retained by the West Austin Youth Association. After the first game, registration is closed and refunds will not be awarded. Special cases must be approved by the Executive Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
