This is a developmental league for girls in the 1st and 2nd grade. Fundamentals of volleyball will be taught through drills and games.

Registration Deadline:

Registration deadline is Friday, August 27, 2010.  A $25 late fee will be assessed after close of business on this date.

• Members: $75
• Non-members: $150

Age Divisions & Team Formation:

This is a developmental league for 1st and 2nd grade girls. There will be one practice/game slot per week on Tuesdays from 5pm - 6pm in the Bratton Gym (New Gym) at the WAYA complex located at 1314 Exposition Blvd.

We will allow for 15-20 minutes of teaching followed by a 20-25 minute game. Players will be taught the basics of volleyball during the skills session and will then be able to use these skills in volleyball-like games that will reinforce the rules and techniques used in volleyball. Our goal is to introduce the game of volleyball through fun skill drills and games.

Teams will be formed each week based on age and skill level. All teams will practice and play in the same gym at the same time. Space is limited.

Season & Location

There will be one practice/game slot per week on Tuesdays from 5pm - 6pm in the Bratton Gym (New Gym) at the WAYA complex located at 1314 Exposition Blvd.  Practice/game sessions will begin Tuesday, September 7, 2010 and continue through Tuesday, October 26, 2010.  This allocates 8 practice/games for the season.

Scholarship Policy

The West Austin Youth Association offers every child the opportunity to participate regardless of skill level, talent or financial need. Scholarships are available for each sport and program that WAYA offers. To obtain a scholarship, you must complete the registration form for the sport or program, complete a scholarship request form and return them both to WAYA prior to the registration deadline. All scholarship requests made prior to the registration deadline will be honored; there will be no scholarships given to requests made after the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, WAYA will contact scholarship participants to notify them of their scholarship amount. Scholarship money is allocated at the beginning of each fiscal year and the amount awarded is based upon the number of requests made per sport.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be given to those that cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, a processing fee of $25 will be retained by the West Austin Youth Association. After the first game, registration is closed and refunds will not be awarded. Special cases must be approved by the Executive Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
